About Us

The SSO for GA is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) charitable scholarship organization.  We are a Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) located in Georgia.  The SSO for GA was organized in 2009 in response to Georgia House Bill 1133 which was passed by the Georgia General Assembly and signed by Governor Sonny Perdue in May 2008.

The Tuition Tax Credit Scholarship program (O.C.G.A. 20-2A-1 thru 20-2A-7) allows individuals and corporate taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar income tax credit for donations made to the SSO for GA.  The SSO for GA will use these donations to grant merit based academic scholarships to students enrolled in a Georgia public school or eligible to enroll in a Pre-K or Kindergarten program at a qualified private school of their parents' choice.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide financial support to as many qualified students of Greek descent under the rules as outlined by O.C.G.A. 20-2A-1 thru 20-2A-7 and the non-profit exempt organization rules promulgated by the Internal Revenue Service.

Our Goal

Our goal is to operate an SSO that provides Greek American families with scholarship opportunities for their children to attend grades K- 12 at accredited Georgia private schools while providing donors with the opportunity to make contributions in support of educational choice for Georgia families in a manner that qualifies for the Georgia Education Expense Credit as outlined in O.C.G.A. 20-2A-1 thru 20-2A-7.
